Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use RecipeBookManager at recipebookmanager.com (“the service”, “we”). RecipeBookManager is a small, independently run recipe app offered free of charge. By using it you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. Your account

• You sign in with your email address and password, or with your Google account. Sign-in is provided by our provider, Clerk.
• Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has used it.
• Give an email address you control, and use one account per person.
• You must be at least 13 years old to use the service.

2. Your content

• You keep ownership of the recipes, photos, comments and other content you add.
• So that the service can work, you allow us to store, copy, process and display your content — to you, and to the people you choose to share it with (friends, friend groups, cookbook collaborators, or anyone holding a share link you create).
• You are responsible for your content. Only add content you have the right to share — for example, do not upload photos or copy recipe text you are not allowed to use.
• You can edit or delete your content in the app, and you can ask us to delete your account as described in the Privacy Policy.

3. Acceptable use

Please do not:

• break the law, or infringe anyone else’s rights;
• harass, threaten or abuse other people, or post hateful, sexually explicit or otherwise offensive content;
• post spam, malware or misleading content;
• try to access accounts or data that are not yours, probe or attack the service, or get around its limits or security;
• use automated tools to scrape the service or put heavy load on it.

We may remove content, or suspend or close an account, that breaks these rules. Other users can report content to us.

4. The service

• We work to keep RecipeBookManager running well, but it is provided as a small personal project: it may be unavailable at times, and features may change, be added or be removed.
• We may update or stop the service. If we decide to shut it down, we will try to give reasonable notice so that you can keep a copy of your recipes.
• Cooking suggestions, ingredient substitutions and recipe imports are provided for convenience. Check ingredients, allergens and food safety yourself — cooking decisions are yours.

5. No warranty

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the extent the law allows.

6. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the service. Because the service is free, our total liability for any claim relating to it is limited to the greatest extent the law allows. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that cannot be limited by law.

7. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
